CHARACTER SPOTLIGHT

Yagami Raito [Death Note]

My current signature on the Anime-Mania and AnimePaper forums states 'Kira is God ~ I Believe'. At one point, I felt inclined [and I'm not thoroughly over it, either] to start some sort of a church for Kira. Me and Raito are so much alike ~ we have the same views on the world, [arguably] around the same IQ, and I would've most likely done the same thing if I were given Raito's choices [...although I'm not sure I would've actually... well... (spoiler) killed L. He was a nice guy, after all. I think I found my perfect anime alter-ego :)

Amane Misa [Death Note]

Some people hate MisaMisa. On the other hand, I think she's cute and funny, and on top of that she's got an awesome dressing style. Not to mention she's a star :)  But... her behavior could use some improvements, I'd say ^_^'

RAVEN [Teen Titans]

I like Raven because our personalities match almost completely. Sure, my dad is definitely not an evil demon lord with horns and four eyes from another dimension and I definitely can't move things with my mind, but... apart from that, we're pretty much alike: I can be just as sarcastic, creepy and apathetic as Raven usually is ~ but deep down inside, I'm a good girl, right? *snicker* Well, as good as it gets, anyway ^_^'

Starfire [Teen Titans]

Starfire is just *too* funny with her alien jokes and misinterpreting human terms and habits. Sure, she also gets on my nerves with her oh-so-friendly attitude sometimes, but... I can overlook that. She's funny nonetheless.

Meer Campbell [Gundam SEED Destiny]

I think Meer is by far the best girl in GSD. Why? Well... Lacus is simply stereotypical, Cagalli is a crying brat, Stellar is a Chi-wannabe [<-- expression not mine, read it on the MT forums if I remember right], and Lunamaria and Meyrin are too poorly characterized to be of any interest. Besides, I think Meer has the loveliest insert songs [Emotion is one of my all-time favorites], she looks nice, she's got some pretty cool outfits, and contrary to what some people might say, her character is quite deep, even though on the surface it looks like she has no life of her own. In reality, she's just struggling to identify with her idol, Lacus Clyne, even though part of her still understands that will never be possible. I felt really sorry for her in the end.

Natsume Shin [Tenjou Tenge]

Shin is - at least in my humble opinion - way cool. He's got the attitude, the strength, the moves and the gears, not to mention he's definitely one of the hottest-looking bishies I've ever come across in an anime series or movie. The only thing that bothers me is [spoiler follows, highlight to read] the way he died. That was plain stupid. Sure, he was deeply in love with whatever-her-name-was, but she was working him behind his back with that old man, and besides, she's the one that stupidly got in the middle of the fight. Sheesh. *rolls eyes*

Natsume Maya [Tenjou Tenge]

Now there's your kick-ass anime girl: tough, good-looking [...well... apart from those totally disproportioned boobs, but then again, I guess there had to be some fanservice in there for the guys, too ^_^'], and with a nice attitude as well. Not to mention she's really strong [I was cheering in front of the monitor when she beat the crap out of that guy who used flames with just one twig], she has style and she can do that nifty body-morphing... thing. Like brother, like sister, eh? :)

Aizen Sosuke, Ichimaru Gin, Tousen Kaname [Bleach]

There you have it: my favorite anime villain trio of all times. Aizen is smart, cunning, excellent at manipulating others and concealing his true intentions and a hot-looking bastard, too [love that in a villain ^_^']. Ichimaru creeped me out at first, but after delving on his character a little further (and reading some nice fanfiction and doujins on the web), I actually came to like him. As for Tousen... well... I'd say he's dumb as a brick for letting himself be deceived by Aizen (their senses of justice are totally not in the same hemisphere), but he's got some cool moves nonetheless. All in all, these three make a hell of a trio. [By the way, if you look closer in the picture, you'll see Tousen is smoking a cigar. I've only just noticed that myself. Whoa O.o I definitely wouldn't have expected that.]

Kyuuzou [Samurai 7]

Kyuuzou has the most impressive fighting style I've ever witnessed in a series. His twin blades are just *too* nifty! I also like how he's calm and composed all the time and cuts through his enemies without ever breaking a sweat. But [spoiler follows, highlight to read] the way he died was extremely lame: he survived through so many battles just to be shot by accident by Katsushirou? I lost my jaw at that scene. Katsushirou no ba~ka! I hated his character ever since. I also think they could've given him a slightly more... well, *less* ridiculous hairstyle... (I do like the red overcoat, though).

Hitomi [Appleseed]

I don't usually fall for the 'pretty-little-nice-friendly-and-innocent' stereotype, but strangely, Hitomi is one of the characters I admire the most. No idea why. I guess it's because she's pretty and she's a dreamer... without giving corny lines about love, peace and friendship every five minutes. I'd like to be like her. Well... a little, anyway.

Legato Bluesummers [Trigun]

Legato is an intriguing character - he's dark, mysterious, merciless (one could even say he's a little sadistic) and, above all, he obeys his master without questioning any of his orders. I've rarely come across such a character in all the series I've seen. Most of the underlings either turned against their masters in the end or died a stupid, ridiculous death. However [spoiler follows, highlight to read], Legato's death actually held a meaning to it, and the fact that one would go so far as to sacrifice  own life just to carry out his master's command is like 'Whoa, that's a first'.
